This book was fantastic. One of the best books I've read in a while.

So when I saw preview for this, I was SO excited. How can a movie with Rachel McAdams be bad? Mean Girls? Great. The Notebook? Even greater.

Really? You loved it? I read it too, and I thought the story was amazing, but I was so distracted by the crudeness (and the "f" word being used like 3 times a page) that I was glad it was over with.

I'm excited for the movie, though. Hopefully it'll be better :)

I don't recall if there was a lot of swearing in it, and I only remember one 'bedroom' part in the book. I did read it over a year ago...perhaps I need to read it again. I just remember liking it a lot, overall. The plot was what really captured me.

Yeah, I hated that book for the swearing. I gave up on it pretty early because I couldn't stand reading the language. I want to see the movie though. :o) Devin rented The Notebook for us to watch while we were dating and we both thought it was ridiculous. Her character was horrible! I do love her though. She's a great actress - loved her in Redeye.

Sorry, Chels. I was thinking about reading it, but the reviews from your friends alone is stopping me. I started Jodi Picoult's new one, "Handle With Care" and I had to stop just because of all the horrible things that were happening....the betrayal, the marriage falling apart, the daughter abusing herself and the predictable ending. I was sad cuz I really liked it, but it just depressed me whenever I started to read. If you finish it, you'll have to tell me the ending.

We should get a group together to go see the movie. Unless you think Dave wants to see it. I don't think I could drag Eric if I tried....well I probably could but it would cost me watching some truly horrible action movie as payment. Not worth it.

I wish I still lived in Lubbock so we could go see it together. I thought the book was spellbinding. I loved their love story,

first of all, she's beautiful. But it will be weird to see her kiss someone other than Ryan Gosling. Come on! They are totally MFEO!

Hey, I'm in if there's a group getting together to see the movie. I always make Dave stop unmute the TV if there's a trailer for it so I can watch. I loved "the Notebook" and I think Rachel McAdams is fantastic. I haven't read the book...I have too many in line right now waiting to be read. :) But I'm glad to know you loved it!

I haven't read the book, but the movie was great. Jack and I went, and I really liked it, but Jack said it was too sad and that we should have gone to see GI Joe. HA! As if.
