No joke. This kid wants to read 24/7. I'm not complaining, reading is fantastic. It's just that the same 6 or seven books he wants to read get old after the fifth time around, you know?
Pointing out the moon to me in a library book. ( I try to mix it up sometimes by getting library books.) That day he was dragging Elmo everywhere with him and setting up down (always making sure Elmo was upright) and would begin to read. So cute.
Like father, like son. Already getting a girl to sit on the back of his bike with him. (Never mind that it's his cousin, Ellen. It's the idea, you know?) Dave was so proud.

Take advantage of his love of books. And never hold him back or put it off. If there's one thing I regret (and I'm a bad mom about) is reading with my kids. I totally wish I had started younger and been consistant with it. Seriously, it pays off in the future....especially with school.
Besides telling you that this is the cutest post, I also want to say that I love your Favorite Husband Quote spot. Dave says the funniest things, and I it reminded me that I need to write down some of the funny funny things that Matt says. Thanks for the inspiration. xoxo
Dean is a bookworm too. I actually appreciate that he'll sit through a movie or morning PBS now. I got so sick and tired of reading "The Foot Book" by Dr. Suess. LOL
I WISH sophie would like books that much. We have them out and I always offer the option, but she goes through them at lightening speed, not giving me a chance to read the page, then is off to something else. When she is interested, she likes the shapes and animals and numbers.
I am impressed that your schedule is consistent. I can't seem to do that. My oldest loved books a lot and still does, but my youngest speeds through them(she really just likes to turn the pages). I am trying to not give up on her, but that is hard.
Mindi :)
I feel like you just were tlaking about Peyton. We read all day every day and ALL of her stuffed animals have to sit up so they can see the pictures. Right now she would rather read to us than us read to her. And Amen sister on your comment on my blog/ We feel the same! We are going to get on that and try to apply for a few things. We were turned down last time so if you know good ideas do tell!
I totally feel your pain about the reading thing. I mean, Cami is only 11 months and has been OBSESSED with it for a while now. She chases (okay, she's crawling - more like loping because she has book in one hand) me around the house all day, tossing books and my feet and making fussy noises until I read it to her. And I do read to her a lot too, and am really glad she likes it, but there has to be moderation in all things, right? If I always read it, that would be all I did, and then she would think crying gets her her way too. Luckily, she's started paging through them herself now too, which helps. Hopefully liking books does stick when she's older though...
