Dave planned a day of activities for us this past Saturday. First we headed off to Maxey Park's 5th Annual Dog Day Howl-o-ween.
People dressed their dogs up in halloween outfits and paraded them around this little stage. Very entertaining. It was actually pretty fun even though we didn't have a dog to enter.

Taking advantage of the "stage" while the dogs were getting ready.

I have no idea what he is doing here. That happens a lot these days.

This dog was supposed to be the "Happy Camper" - it had a jean jacket on and a backpack. Not sure how the sunglasses tied into the outfit, however. Her owner told me she wears them on walks, "to keep the dust out of her eyes." Wow.

Next we to the Lubbock Lake Landmark Celebration at the Lubbock Lake museum. (Yep, we know how to party in Texas!) It was pretty fun, and had lots of crafts for B to do. (With a lot of help from Dave.) I'm not sure who had more fun, Father or son.

Practicing his cutting skills to make a buffalo mask. (Because apparently there used to a lot of buffalo around Lubbock Lake way back when....when it was actually a lake, and not a dried up crater.)

Making a corn husk doll. (That Dave promptly turned into a man by cutting the skirt in half in order to make legs. Wish I would have taken a picture of the final product.)

Blake being the dutiful baby sister by staying in her stroller. She was trying to smile, but it just wasn't really there.

This is the face we get when we tell him to say cheese. It's a mix between a pirate and the hunchback of Notre Dame.

I love this - she is trying to be a good sister letting him hug her, all the while trying to keep watching Sesame Street. What a trooper.

She's trying to make you believe she is just putting up with him blowing on her tummy, but she really loves it. She always gets a grin on her face anytime B is paying attention to her.

(Yes, she is still in her brother's old pajamas. At least the blue makes her eyes look pretty.)

That's fun (in a very Lubbock way) - how do you find out about these things? I always seem to miss the "zoo" at the Science Spectrum every year too... :(
