Yeah, I'm a pro
I was trying to motivate myself to work out the other day when Dave suggested I try riding his bike. He has one of those road/racing/cycling bikes, the really sleek ones that you see the guys riding down roads with all the spandex on. (Don't worry, Dave doesn't do the spandex thing. I made sure. :) ) When he asked me, I was thinking "Okay, I can do that. I haven't ridden a bike in forever." I think the last time I rode a bike was my nephew's bike in Arizona, when I was about 8 months pregnant. Ha, remember that Jody? Anyway, I thought "How hard can it be?" I was (obviously) forgetting that Dave has the special shoes that clip into his tiny pedals on the bike. I really wish we had taken pictures, but try to imagine me trying to clip a biking shoe (about 5 sizes too big for me) onto this little peddle about the size of a small lemon, all the while Dave was holding the bike upright so I wouldn't fall over once I had the first foot in. Oh yeah, and I was wearing a helmet. Then, once I had both shoes clipped in, he had to push me off so I could gain momentum. At this point, I could ride for miles on end. Then comes the hard part when you have to stop to cross a street. Your feet are clipped in, and this could pose a problem if you don't get them out soon enough. I didn't fall, surprisingly, because I was aware that my feet were clipped in the entire time. I went about two miles, with Dave & Bentley following me in the car. ( I know...just picture it.) I did so good, perhaps I will try it again tomorrow...if Dave has time to hold the bike up for me to clip in and follow behind me in the car...

Wow, that's quite a story.
Those clips on shoes really scare me. I'd never volunteer for that. Impressive, Chels!
ps. Next time, make sure you get a picture of that...people like me like to see pictures like that. oh ya, & I would definitely suggest spandex for you. That would make the picture all the better.
Chelsea! We are biking buddies. I'll post pictures in my helmet if you post pictures in Dave's.
